KESHA's LEGAL DRAMA

It's sad how some "celebrities" can't make the news unless they're in trouble or when they mess up, but oh well, that's not my problem. Most of you know Kesha right? Kesha Rose Sebert, formerly known as Ke$ha, the American pop star who hit the pop charts as an uncredited collaborator with Flo Rida's top single "Right Round" and also her debut single "Tik Tok" which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks, or most recently, her song with Pitbull "TImber" topping charts in 2013. Well I usually won't write about her, but in an era where discrimination against women is always on the high, I couldn't sit back and not say anything. So what exactly is happening?
Back in the latter part of 2013 most of Kesha's fans started a petition to sever the relationship between Kesha and her producer Dr. Luke, branding it as controlling and affecting her creativity. I personally didn't even think it was a big deal until a few months later when Kesha was admitted to rehab to treat an tang disorder. Kesha's mom also said it was Dr. Luke who disturbed her daughter about her weight, often comparing her to a refrigerator...if you ask me, that's pretty harsh.
Right, let's get down to the lawsuit. Kesha filed a lawsuit in California October 2014, and what she basically wanted was to terminate her tract and allowed to work with other labels. It also claims that over the 10 years prior to its filing, Dr. Luke had, and I'll need to quite here "sexually, physically, verbally, and emotional abused Ms. Sebert to the point ere MS. Sebert nearly lost her life". Now obviously, Dr. Luke wasn't just going to sit down and do nothing so, in the same year he countersued Kesha for defamation and breach of contract, also claiming that the accusations were "false and shocking accusations" and the fact that Kesha didn't want to record  anymore was just plain extortion. Brilliant, now that you've understood what is going on, we can now move to Friday's injunction.
So again, quite simply, New Yok Supreme Curt Justice Shirley Kornreich denied  an injunction that would've given Kesha the opportunity and legal right to record with other labels. Now I've had a lot of people ask me what I thought of the fact that a female Judge gave this ruling. First of all if there wasn't enough evidence to pin Dr. Luke down, there's nothing that can make Kesha win the case. Secondly the fact that the Judge is a woman doesn't mean Kesha should get some sympathy, sure this case is serious, and sure it may seem as though Dr. Luke most certainly did abuse Kesha, but the Judge will still have to be fair in her ruling.
The whole scandal has brought with itself quite the buzz, with celebrities all around especially the female celebrities pledging their support to Kesha. The most recent act of selfless help was when Taylor Swift donated $250,000 "to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time"
So basically that's that, Judge Kornreich said in her ruling on Friday that's she was waiting to hear more evidence before dismissing the case. If all this is true, Dr. Luke surely deserves any form of punishment that comes in mind. 2016 does seem like the year of scandals, the scandal with Bill Cosby and all those women  he allegedly raped also quickly comes to mind. I do hope Kesha gets the justice she deserves if all this is true because some of her songs were true hits, and I'd love to hear more music from her.
